Time is wasted and is gone, never to be redeemed. Many use it like it will never come to an end, so they do not store up from its wealth. They expect the flow to continually serve them in the lives they live – to themselves. These ones will be unexpectedly stopped and will see at that moment their folly. But it will be too late to make amends. They were given their entire lives to make amends, but they chose to use it for their selfish gain. They lived saving their own lives as a prize possession. They considered their lives precious. With their very lives, they will pay the debt they have incurred. It is a debt that will take an eternity to pay.

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? Luke 9:23-25
