Abortion’s Curse & Freedom Christ Brings
One of the positions I have held was a Director for our local Pregnancy Care
Centre. In this line of work, I often came across women who had abortions. And
for those who desired they attended a bible study we hosted, specifically for
those who experienced abortion. This was one of the highlights of my time as
Director because I saw the Lord heal and set free all of them! The bible study
book we used is appropriately called: Forgiven
and Set Free.
I pray that those who have had abortions will lend me their ear for some
very life-changing information.
I will tell anyone who has had an abortion, you will never be able to sweep
it under the rug no matter how good you are at denying it. I can say this with
the confidence of God as my witness. Unless you acknowledge to yourself and God
that you broke the 6th
commandment you will remain bound in the curse it brings. I can tell you
that each woman I met had one common trait about them. They were restless. They
could not settle, and could not attain contentment, happiness, or love. Some
were lost in addiction or seemed to be magnets for bad relationships while
others looked like they had it all together.
Your freedom hinges on you coming clean to God, confessing what you have
done, and acknowledging you have sinned.
You sinned against yourself, your child, and God. This is the truth that has
to be brought to light. The shame of abortion is like an invisible weight that
keeps you from finding relief. You cannot find peace until you bring the Prince
of Peace into that locked room in your heart. The good news is that Jesus has
paid the price for your sin so just bring it to the cross!
This curse that is over you, was pronounced upon Cain for murdering his
brother:
The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood
cries out to me from the ground. Now you are under a curse and driven from the
ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You
will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”
Only if you are honest before God will you find forgiveness and be set free
from this sin. It is a road that you commit to go, where you continue to seek
His wisdom for there is more healing to come.
I encourage anyone who is struggling in this area, and who desires to step
out to obtain healing to seek support by contacting your local Pregnancy care
center or by obtaining the book I have referred to, or similar that deals with
abortion relying on the Lord and His Word and I pray for you,
