Our Lord is the God of the Living because He is alive. Matt22:32.  When He enters a soul who yields themselves to Him He quickens them by His Spirit and they will breathe the first (true) breath of life- where we receive His Spirit. Acts2:38. For before this, we are dead.  In a paradox, we don’t realize we are dead until God makes us alive. Once per year, millions across the world observe the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection in what we know as Easter.  Sadly, we can take part in these services and yet remain dead in our sins knowing nothing of being alive in Christ.  We may believe, and do many good works in the name of the Savior but must ask ourselves this question, ‘Am I dead or alive?’ How can we tell if we are dead or alive? Romans 6. By our testimony. The testimony of those who are alive in Christ is not only ‘I believe!’ but also, ‘I was once dead but now I am Alive!’ Romans 8. And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.
