All that happens to us here, matters not to God. No matter how great or grave our circumstances. What matters to God is our perspective on what happens to us.
We often ask God to come down to where we are. Meanwhile, He waits for us to ascend to where He is.
If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:26
Victory depends on us in a sense. It has already been fought and won by Jesus on the Cross and in His Resurrection. It awaits us to tap into – where Christ is and is linked to everlasting life.
Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.
And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.” John 6: 27, 40, 47, 50
It is an easy thing to do to get caught up in the toils and woes here on this earth. But our advocate is above seated at the right hand of God. We make appointments to see professionals here on earth and go where they are. They never come to us. How much more so as we seek THE PROFESSIONAL above all professionals!
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Col 3:1-4
When we are aligned with Jesus, (John 15), we will get anything we ask according to the will of God. We must have the right perspective and belief.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:12-14
Some go off on a name-it-and-claim-it path. They think just because they say, ‘in the name of Jesus,’ they get whatever they ask. This is not what Jesus speaks – ever. We are counted – in His name, in position, not in a tag word we shout.
Going where Jesus is – is key and leaving all else behind is also key. This requires time in prayer, not quick machine gun desperate prayers. Machine gun prayers are not wrong. They might be more effective if we took more time in the secret place which is above with the Lord.
He is our hiding place, and place of refuge not just in theory but in practice too! O Lord, help us be ever aware when we expect You to come down to us. Let us go quickly to You where You are! Amen.
