What Anchors Us?

O how we need to be reminded to be anchored down!  For the storms come!   Where is our supply coming from?  Where are we anchored?

Mark 4:16-18,  Romans 11:8, Ephes 3:16-18

I talk of spiritual storms that resemble tornadoes and tsunamis.  They will devour anything in their paths that has not been anchored down.

The danger we all face today is allowing our digital devices to ‘feed’ us. Unknowingly, these devices determine what we are anchored to.  Our Source is found in our Bible.  The time we dedicate to the Lord in prayer and reading the scriptures is crucial. It is where we anchor ourselves in what He tells us. It is also where we discover who He is today, yesterday, and forever.

Our priority is the kingdom of God.  Some may say this is fanatical thinking.  Being a follower of Christ is fanatical; it has to be.  We do not affiliate ourselves with any part of this world. We are affiliated with the Living God through His Son, Jesus Christ.  His ways are not of this world.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Jer 17:7-8
